Sarah Dessen!

 One of my favorite authors of all time is Sarah Dessen. From the middle school book fairs, till now I have been a fan of her books. Although her books are easy reads considering they were written for a younger age group, I am so happy to have rediscovered her books. Of the 14 books that she has written I have read 12 of them since quarantine started. (ok I'm dumb I took notes after reading the books with the main ideas so let me put those instead of new descriptions)

This Lullaby

    -hard to remember a lot of the details, it's been so long so I am using wiki to job my brain, main character Remy never gets to meet her dad, but he wrote a song about her when she was born, her mother continues to get married is on her 5th marriage- she meets Dexter he plays at her mother's wedding i believe, i kind of forget the details but Dexter is persistent so she falls for him, but she pushes him away and then there are other details the new step father is a cheater and her brother is getting married and i remember Dexter gets a dog or has a dog idk lol

The Truth About Forever

    -omg this one had a sad start Macy's dad dies, they normally went on morning runs together so she stops running, and then let's see her nerd bf is away at camp and they take a break because her bf is stupid and then she get's a job at a catering place and falls for the one boy who is an artist like metal art i think it sounds cool and i think they're kind of like her family like she likes the pregnant mom and she becomes close with the girl who is edgy i think i can't remember anything else important 

Along For the Ride

    - Auden's dad gets remarried to younger woman and has a baby, she goes to spend the summer with them on the beach, the mom is a professor who is sleeping with her grad student, Auden falls for boy Eli who stopped riding (bikes) after his bff Abe died, if i remember correctly it's like a cute beach town and she learns how to ride a bike with him and that's sweet and there's the thing with Abe dying but i don't recall exactly 

That Summer

    - Haven remembers stuff about her older sister's ex Sumner (like how great he is and everything good about him- doesn't get why they broke up basically), then her parents get divorced and her dad marries his coworker, and then her sister Ashley gets married to Lewis (who i think is like super proper or something the opposite of Sumner), and Haven finds out why Sumner was actually not so great i think forget but i think this was her first book written and it was short and not my fav

Just Listen

    - Annabel is a model and has a lot of family problems, she wants to quit modeling but her mom won't let her? her older sister Whitney was also a model i think but she has anorexia, her best friend Sophie ditches her and stops being friends with her because she thinks she slept with her bf i think? but really he assaulted her his name was Will Cash, and then i have Owen gives CDs- has radio show??? i'm sure he must be the love interest but i just do not recall lol will have to update 

Keeping the Moon

    -Colie goes to stay with her Aunt Mira in NC while her mom is on some fitness tour (i think Colie used to be fat but lost a lot of weight?) Norman is an artist who works at a diner, Isabel and Morgan also work there and befriend Colie they live across the street, Morgan is obsessed with her fiancé Mark who is a jerk and is never there and always lies about when he's coming, and that's deadass all i had i'm assuming Colie ends up with Norman but i didn't write anything else lol- i think she has Norman paint her i think he like works in the basement of her house if i remember 

Dreamland

    - Cass runs away (is the older sister?) then Caitlin joins the cheer squad because her mom is obsessed with her being involved and then she starts to date Rogerson who deals drugs, smokes a lot of weed, and in the end turns out to be very abusive, Caitlin befriends Corinna (through Rogerson i think) and then she leaves for Cali without goodbye and Caitlin is sad- Rogerson gets arrested, Caitlin goes to a rehab center and Cass eventually comes home?

The Rest of the Story (MY FAV)

    -I LOVED THIS ONE. Emma's dad gets married to another dentist lol what, and then her mom was an addict who died a few years ago and Emma needs a place to stay while her dad is on his honeymoon and her other grandma has her house renovated, so she stays with her mom's mother and meets cousins and old friends she doesn't remember and they're like on a lake and there are 2 sides on with a super nice resort and one where her grandma's house and motel are, they have a Club prom thing at the resort (where they stay when the dad gets back and forces her to i forget why- found it in my notes it's called the Tides) with Bailey who i think is her cousin but the boy Colin ditches her so they make their own prom at Roos' house, a bad storm comes that forces them out of the resort? i forget but i feel like they rode around in an icecream truck lol and also her mom was the reason Roo's dad died i think, but Saylor finally kisses Roo (Saylor is Emma) 

Once and For All 

    -i have a note that i reread this book lol i reread a few of them but love that for me- Louna is the daughter of a wedding planner, Ambrose is the brother of the bride to be and he is kind of annoying so the mom hires him to help keep him busy,  they make a bet about relationships (Ambrose can't keep one girl, and Louna can't go on a lot of dates), Louna is still heart broken over Ethan who was killed in a school shooting- she met him at a wedding she was helping out at and he asked her to dance she spend the night on the beach with him it was so so sweet and even more depressing when she finds out he was one of a few killed in a school shooting :( but obviously her and Ambrose end up together because they get jealous of the other's dating other people 

What Happened to Goodbyes

    -McClean and her dad are constantly moving because he is a chef who like fixes restaurants i believe, and her mom left the dad for their favorite bbal coach which is horrible f the mom, and McClean picks a new name in every town she moves -here she is Liz, her neighbor is Dave and she tells him her real name, with help of Deb (organizer she befriends) they build a model of the town, McClean has a breakdown basically when she is forced to go stay with her mom for a week, Dave does cute people thing for her on model (WTF does this mean- i think they made a model of the town and he helped and put the people out? i read my notes out of order lol i get it now), restaurant has to close but McClean is able to stay with Opal (who was the owner of the restaurant i think or manager, and is now dating her dad lol) while her dad goes to Hawaii to do another restaurant

Lock and Key 

    -i think this was the first book i read because it was a reread? the mom abandons her daughter Ruby (the mom was like messed up i think), she goes to live with her older sister Cora and her husband, she meets a boy Nate Cross who lives behind her i think and has a business with his dad, she wears a key around her neck that goes to her old house incase her mom ever went back there, and in the end she gives it to Nate (he had a tough relationship with his dad was always busy kind of pushed around)

Someone Like You 

    -this was also a reread because i had the physical copy, Halley and Scarlett are bffs, Scarlett is dating Michael she gets pregnant i think and then Michael dies in an accident, Halley has to be there for her and leaves camp to help her, i think Halley ends up with Michael's friend Macon- okay crazy other details happen but i don't care to type them rn lol
